Our Mission
We have been given a mission by our Lord – making disciples of Jesus Christ. We take this responsibility very seriously. Our mission requires preaching and living out "the Gospel of the Kingdom," baptizing into Jesus Christ those who are willing to become His disciples, and then teaching them to obey all of Jesus' commandments. "Evangelism" is done first in deed, then in word. That is, we are to live in such a way that accurately reflects Jesus Christ to all with whom we come in contact. Then, when this stark contrast to the rest of mankind is observed by those around us, we must always be prepared to give an answer for the hope found within us.
A large part of our responsibility is instructing Jesus' disciples in sound doctrine. Jesus predicted that many would fall away in the last days due to deception. The best way to ensure that our members remain faithful to the Apostolic Christian Faith is to educate them through expository teaching and preaching. What good is the "fruit" of evangelism if it does not remain? Peter wrote that it would have been better not to have known the way of righteousness, than after having experienced it, to turn away from the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
We are striving to prepare our members for an abundant entrance into Christ's soon coming Kingdom. We are in training to rule and reign with Christ when He comes to restore all things. Our hope is in Him and His coming Kingdom, not in the temporary things of this age which are quickly coming to an end. We are seeking to live and pray in such a way that Jesus will find us "worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man." Consequently, our focus is learning to serve Him faithfully, allowing Him to mold us into people fit to reign with Him, and finishing our course successfully.
