We have been given a mission by Jesus Christ. We do not take this mission lightly. We will be judged by Him on how faithfully we have pursued that mission.

"Then Jesus came to them and said, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age'." (Matt 28:18-20 NKJV)

Making disciples of Jesus requires preaching and living the Gospel of the Kingdom, baptizing those who believe into the Body of Christ (the Church), and then teaching them to obey all Jesus' commandments - to live as Jesus lived and taught.

A "disciple" is not merely a "convert." Bringing people into a relationship with Jesus Christ is just the first step. Our mission is also:

"...equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head - Christ." (Eph. 4:12-15 NKJV).

The primary goal of our mission is to recruit and prepare believers for an abundant entrance into Christ's coming Kingdom. We are in training to rule and reign with Christ. Our hope is in His coming Kingdom, not in this world's system. Consequently, our focus now is learning to serve Christ faithfully, allowing Him to mold us into people fit to reign with Him, and "finishing our course" sucessfully. True happiness and emotional wholeness in this life come automatically as a byproduct of faithful, united service to Jesus Christ and His cause.

Oasis Christian Church seeks to be faithful to New Testament teaching and practice. Yet, at the same time we must convey the message of pristine Christianity in ways that are relevant and understandable in today's culture.
