Equipping Leaders to Prepare Jesus's Flock for His Return
This Fall's seminar, scheduled for October 10-11, 2008, has been postponed until further notice. Those who have registered will be notified by email once we have settled on a new schedule. (07/22/08)
1 Timothy 4:1-2,6 "Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, ...
If you instruct the brethren in these things, you will be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished in the words of faith and of the good doctrine which you have carefully followed."
2 Timothy 4:1-5 "I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry."
Titus 1:7, 9 "For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God, ... holding fast the faithful word as he has been taught, that he may be able, by sound doctrine, both to exhort and convict those who contradict."
1 Peter 5:4 "And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that does not fade away."
Much of Jesus' teaching, including His parables, concerned His second coming to earth as King. His preaching can be summed up
in the statement, "Repent for the Kingdom of heaven is near" (Matt. 4:17). This is the message He commanded His Apostles to
preach to all the nations, after which the end will come (Matt. 24:14). His commands to be ready and watching must be taken seriously,
now more than ever. His most frightening warning was directed toward the "servant, whom his master made ruler over his
household, to give them food in due season." This is certainly a reference to the "overseers" of the congregations
who are charged with "feeding the flock." The servant who does not watch adequately for the Master's return, and does not
give those under his charge the proper food at the proper time, is in for some real trouble. Jesus "will cut him in
two and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth" (Matt. 24:45-51 &
Luke 12:35-48).
Faithful Shepherds Bible Prophecy Seminars are designed to provide clear and concise direction to current and future "shepherds"
of Jesus' flock. There is no attempt to hype up current events. Rather, our focus is on the nuts and bolts of prophetic revelation,
straightforward, objective principles of interpretation, and the consistent application of these principles. The result will be a clear
understanding of eschatology, so that you can do what you are called to do, preach "the Gosepl of the Kingdom," and give those
under your care their proper food at the proper time.
Roger Samsel and Tim Warner will be the primary speakers. Together they have more than 35 years of intense study of
Bible prophecy, and several years study of early Church history and the Biblical languages. Both men were brought
up to believe dispensationalism and pretribulationism, and have abandoned both by consistently applying the methodology
that pretribulationists profess, but do not follow consistently. You will be surprised how easy eschatology really is
once you commit to an objective methodology, apply it consistently, and are willing to give up some cherished (but
unbiblical) assumptions. Roger and Tim will demonstrate conclusively that a consistent application of the only truly
objective method of interpretation (the grammatical - historical method), leads to only one conclusion. And they will
prove historically that this was also the "orthodox" eschatological view of Christian Churches at the close of the
Apostolic age.
There will be workshops for group discussion, and opportunities to question the speakers. The "Millennium," the timing of
the rapture / resurrection, and the nature of "the Kingdom of God" will be discussed in detail. There will be teaching and
discussion of how best to prepare God's people for the end times, and how to present these things to a local church
that may not be entirely supportive.
The seminar and workshops will be held at Oasis Christian Church in Tampa Florida, October 10-11, beginning at 8:30am.
